Celtic 'win Aaron Hickey race' amid interest in Hearts star from Bayern Munich

Celtic are reported to be on the verge of signing Aaron Hickey.

The Hearts left-back has been linked with a number of clubs this summer, and has been given tours by Serie A side Bologna and Champions League winners Bayern Munich.

Hickey was expected to join the Bundesliga giants, but now it appears the 18-year-old may be destined for Glasgow.

Daily Telegraph reporter Mike McGrath tweeted: "#CelticFC are set to win the race for #Hearts full-back Aaron Hickey.

"The 18yr old had interest from English Premier League clubs after playing regularly last season."

Hickey had a spell with Celtic's youth academy, before returning to Hearts in 2018 and going on to make 30 appearances for the first team.

Neil Lennon's side are also expected to confirm the signing of David Turnbull this week.

The Motherwell midfielder, who has scored 16 goals in 41 games for the Fir Park side, almost signed on at Celtic Park last summer but a knee injury was flagged in his medical and the deal collapsed.

The Scottish Sun have now reported that Celtic will pay £3m and conclude the deal in the coming days.
