Celtic want 'answers' over Jota VAR row as they ask SFA why viewers weren't shown clearer Motherwell angle

Celtic are reportedly set to ask the SFA why viewers weren't shown a clearer angle of Jota 's offside call against Motherwell.

The Portuguese winger was denied a stunning goal that would have put his side 2-0 up as he latched onto Kyogo's pass to finish beyond Liam Kelly. But it was pulled back by VAR for offside as Celtic went on to win 2-1 thanks to Daizen Maeda.

The angle shown to viewers on PPV and on BBC Sportscene did little to clear the tight offside call up as it was shown from an awkward angle deep within the Celtic half. That sparked some fury from fans on social media who wondered how officials could possibly have come to the decision, but Motherwell chief Alan Burrows insists officials were shown replay footage from both ends of the pitch.

The Scottish Sun now report that, while Celtic are happy the VAR officials and the replay monitor had access to sufficient angles, they have been left perplexed by the angle shown to fans watching on TV. And it's claimed they will seek clarification from the SFA, feeling the technology could be undermined if the situation is not cleared up.
