Celtic vs Hibs rescheduled date revealed as Neil Lennon's men get Europa League recovery time

Hibs will visit Celtic on September 27 after their fixture was moved back a day to accommodate the Hoops' Europa League commmitments.

The game was due to be played on September 26 but has been rescheduled to allow them an extra day of recovery.

Neil Lennon 's men face an away trip to Riga or Tre Fiori in the third qualifying round.

The Latvians welcome the San Marino minnows next Thursday in a one-off tie to decide who gets through to the third qualifying round.

The Hoops will welcome the move as it gives them more time to recover from their trip abroad before taking on Jack Ross ' side.

Hibs have started the season well and sit second in the Premiership although they lost 1-0 to Aberdeen at Easter Road in their last fixture.

Celtic would have been expected to be playing in Champions League qualifiers at this stage of the season, allowing a Saturday fixture to go ahead but they fell to a shock defeat at the hands of Hungarian champions Ferencvaros.
