Celtic vs Ferencvaros odds, prediction and best bets as Odsonne Edouard tip stands out

When the Iron Curtain was still a thing and 'crack' was an adjective not a drug, top Eastern European sides were always described as such.

And Ferencvaros were undoubtedly a 'crack' team.

They won the Fairs Cup in 1965, were runners up in 1968, knocking out Liverpool en route to the final, and got to the final of the 1975 Cup Winners Cup after dismissing Liverpool on the way once again.

But while this current Ferencvaros side was crowned Hungarian champions for the 31st time in June, their days of European conquest are long gone.

From crack, they are now cracked - which is why The Hoops are 4/9 favourites to triumph on Wednesday night at Celtic Park and the visitors 11/2 with thepools.com .

Ferencvaros' Brazilian midfielder Somalia wasn't impressed with the odds-makers.

"Celtic has a lot of history and tradition as a club but they are not favourites for this match," he declared.

"Without fans it makes our chances level. We have a 50 per cent qualifying chance."

Perhaps.

The Hungarian champions did beat Swedish champions Djurgarden 2-0 in their Champions League opener, with Norway midfielder Tokmac Nguen scoring both goals.

He also scored in Ferencvaros' league opener against MTK. He's a tempting 10/1 to score first on Wednesday and 16/5 to score anytime .

Celtic top scorer Odsonne Edouard is favourite to score the first goal at 11/4 but Mohamed Elyounoussi is also worth considering at 5/1 after scoring the first and last goals against KR Reykjavik in the last round.

Celtic to win and Both Teams to Score is 2/1 and given Ferencvaros' steady start this season that also has appeal.
