Celtic v Rangers fixture dates revealed as Gerrard aims to defend his crown against Postecoglou

It feels as though the season only just ended but Scottish fans are already clamouring for the start of the 2021/22 campaign, and they won't have too long to wait.

The SPFL have this morning revealed the big kick-off for the 2021/22 campaign will take place on Saturday, July 31, with Celtic 's trip to Tynecastle to take on Hearts easily the pick of the round.

However, the main concern of Celtic and Rangers supporters will be when they get to renew their bitter on-field rivalry, with the first clash arriving before the end of August.

Steven Gerrard will given Ange Postecoglou a warm welcome to Ibrox on the weekend of August 28, with kick-off times likely to be rescheduled by broadcasters Sky Sports.

The re-match will arrive in the form of the classic New Year showdown, with the Gers set to travel to to the East End of Glasgow on January 2.

After that, Celtic will return to Ibrox on April 2, meaning the fourth and final derby clash will take place after the top and bottom six split - and the Hoops will have home advantage in their final meeting of the campaign.
