Celtic urge fans to stay home and save lives during lockdown

Celtic have urged fans to stay home during the lockdown.

On Monday night, Prime Minister Boris Johnson told the nation: “From this evening I must give the British people a very simple instruction -  you must stay at home.

“Because the critical thing we must do is stop the disease spreading between households."

Clubs across the country have been spreading the message, and Celtic used social media to communicate a simple message: "STAY HOME. SAVE LIVES"

That message was shared by club captain Scott Brown, who added: "Stay safe Celts, You'll Never Walk Alone."

Addressing the fans on Saturday, Brown said: "Everyone at the club is now right behind you. Thanks for everything you have given us, your health is everything. So we want you to do everything you can to stay safe.

"We know this is a really difficult time for so many people and we won't see for so long.

"But we want you to know that we will be back and we will be seeing you soon and we are looking forward to it.

"Look after yourself and lots of love from everybody at Celtic, we are right behind you. Take care."
