Celtic TV blackout as club issue apology while fans miss Odsonne Edouard goal

Celtic fans were left frustrated as the club broadcast of their home match against Aberdeen was cut off just before kick-off.

Supporters will have been intrigued to watch John Kennedy's first game in temporary charge following the departure of Neil Lennon as the Dons travelled south to Glasgow.

But before a ball was kicked, the video feed on the Pass to Paradise season ticket platform - broadcast to tens of thousands of season ticket holders - turned black.

Many fans even missed the opening goal of the game, a deflected Odsonne Edouard strike that found its way past Joe Lewis inside eight minutes.

Two minutes before kick-off, the club's Twitter account for all matters relating to Pass to Paradise posted: "Apologies for the temporary issue with the picture. We're working this right now. Thank you."

And that carried on well into the Premiership clash as many fans vented their frustration to the club during the game on the social media platform.

Pass to Paradise has seen a host of issues in this season unlike any other with fans frustrated at how far behind the real-life action it can be, as well as login issues making it hard for every season ticket holder to get up and running most weekends.

Celtic chairman Ian Bankier commented recently on the virtual matchday offering, admitting the club did want to improve the platform.

He said: "The virtual season ticket scheme has not been and cannot be a substitute for the real thing. We do recognise that.

"We thank all our season ticket holders for the fantastic loyalty they have shown the club and, of course, we are working on ways in which we can acknowledge that.

"Your commitment to a season ticket supports our playing squad and allows us to invest in players, giving Celtic the best chance to deliver the playing success that we all want."
