Celtic troll Rangers with club statement dig as they look back over famous title win

It's 22 years now since Celtic won the league and stopped Rangers winning 10-in-a-row during the 90s.

Harald Brattbakk added a second after Henrik Larsson opened the scoring in the first half. The Hoops won the league by two points over Rangers as the Ibrox side lost a league title for the first time since 1988.

During the lockdown, Celtic - like many other clubs - have been looking back over some old games and they showed the victory over St Johnstone in 1998 on Saturday.

With the likes of Tom Boyd, Simon Donnelly and Jackie McNamara all joining in by tweeting their views during the game as Celtic 'live' tweeted also.

And as the full time whistle blew on their YouTube video, Celtic decided to troll their rivals once more on their social media account with a dig about club statements.

Rangers have been involved in a war of words with the SPFL over the last week or so as rows rumble on about what happens with the current season.

Club statements have been a regular occurrence and Celtic tweeted to say: "The Bhoys have stopped the ten. Now that's what you call a club statement."

As well as Celtic doing it, former Hoops left back Kieran Tierney was doing the same on Friday.

The Arsenal defender decided to show his love for the club when Rangers looked for pictures from their own supporters of them enjoying themselves at Ibrox.

But while Celtic fans decided to invade the post by posting pictures of their numerous wins there in recent years, Tierney thought he would join in.

He's got a bit of stick since leaving Celtic in the summer in a £25m move but this might win a few fans over again with this post.

Tierney shared a picture of players and fans celebrating during Brendan Rodgers' time at the club with a simple caption of: "stay safe."
