Celtic will need to battle Brazilian heavyweights Corinthians amongst others for the services of Argentine midfielder Fausto Vera from Argentinos Juniors this summer.
Vinicius Souza was their top midfield target, but he’s joining La Liga outfit Espanyol from Lommel in Belgium. Now attentions are turning to Argentina where Vera has impressed over 72 appearances, on top of eight caps for his country's U23s team. His contract expires in December but current employers hold a one-year extension option, so could be tempted to hold out for a bigger fee in January.
Vera is one of many players linked to Celtic but according to TyC Sports correspondent Cesar Luis Merlo, seven-time Serie A and 30-time Campeonato Paulista champions Corinthians made a 'formal offer of 6 million euros for 70% of the economic rights.' There is also a 'similar proposal from Genk' over in Belgium and both are being evaluated by Argentinos Juniors' board.
