Celtic transfer swap claim as Diego Laxalt and Kristoffer Ajer exchange 'possible'

Celtic could reportedly consider a swap deal for Diego Laxalt and Kristoffer Ajer next summer.

Laxalt has been an instant hit on-loan from AC Milan but the Rossoneri are known admirers of his defensive counterpart.

The Serie A giants have a long-standing interest in Norway international Ajer.

Neil Lennon has already admitted he wants to keep Laxalt but cautioned it's "early days" to talk of a permanent deal.

But Milan News report the two clubs could consider an exchange.

Celtic meet Milan in the Europa League on Thursday and it's claimed discussions could begin at the San Siro this week.

Ajer 's Parkhead contract runs until 2022 and he's previously been linked with a reunion with former boss Brendan Rodgers at Leicester City.

Laxalt, meanwhile, has already proven an inspired signing following a string of impressive performances at left-back.

The Uruguay international scored his first Celtic goal to rescue his side a point during Saturday's 2-2 draw with Hibs at Easter Road.
