Celtic transfer state of play on Fausto Vera, Ryan Mmaee and Dylan Reid

It has been a busy summer so far for Celtic but there are no signs of business slowing down just yet.

Ange Postecoglou is looking to bolster his squad by adding "two or three more" ahead of the 2022/23 campaign where they will face a battle to keep hold of the cinch Premiership title along with the small matter of Champions League group stage football.

With two pre season friendly clashes already under their belt, Celtic were able to showcase exactly what they have - and maybe more importantly what they are lacking still - as they gear up for the upcoming season on a trip to Europe. The Hoops boss set out the secure competition at left-back and in goals this summer, with both positions now successfully filled following the arrival of Alexandro Bernabei and Benjamin Siegrist. Now attention has turned to midfield recruits. Record Sport runs the rule over the latest targets for the Premiership champions.

Fausto Vera

Brazilian Vinicius Souza was on Celtic's wish list this summer as they look to boost their squad in the middle of the park. But with the star set to join Espanyol from Lommel he is no longer an option. Postecoglou could instead bring in Argentine star Fausto Vera, the Argentinos Juniors playmaker the latest name to be linked with a move to the Premiership champions.

Football Scotland reports no offer has been tabled yet, but the the midfielder is understood the be a topic of conversation at Parkead. The 22-year-old is only in contract at his current club until December, which could help facilitate a cut-price deal. However, there is an option to extend that by a further 12 months that lies with the Primera Division club, who may feel they will get more money for their man in January should they extend his deal.

Dylan Reid

Record Sport earlier reported that Celtic will hold talks with Dylan Reid this Monday after agreeing a £125,000 deal with St Mirren. The Scotland under-17 was granted permission to hold talks with the Hoops with Postecoglou confirming his side's interest in the youngster at the weekend.

The teen would slot into Celtic's B team as the face another season in the Lowland League. And now St Mirren star now face a decision over his future, with Portuguese giants Benfica also interested.

Ryan Mmaee

Ryan Mmaee has caught the eye of Celtic this summer as Ange Postecoglou looks for a least one recruit for this frontline. The 24-year-old netted 18 goals in all competition for the Hungarian champions last season and still has one year left on his contract at the Budapest club. But the side were handed a huge blow after it was revealed the forward is currently recovering from an injury.

It means that Mmaee is 'unlikely' to make a move before the end of the year. However, his departure from Ferencvaros before the transfer window slams shut was not completely ruled out by the Budapest club's sporting director Tamas Hajnal.
