Celtic have been placed third in world football for outgoing transfers, according to the latest FIFA Global Transfer tracker over the past 12 months.

It collates, representing 179 different nationalities.

And FIFA revealed that out of those 4,544 clubs, Celtic were in third place for outgoing transfers after 32 players were either sold or allowed to move in 2021.

Only Manchester City with 41 players and Portuguese outfit Portimonense with 34 were ahead of the Hoops for outgoing numbers across the five confederations of UEFA, CONMEBOL, Concacaf, AFC and CAF.

And there were another 22 players who were allowed to leave Parkhead last year with Ange Postecoglou taking the reins in the summer .

FIFA's report explained: "In order to best reflect the training performance of releasing clubs, these lists not only include outgoing transfers with a transfer agreement between the releasing and the engaging club, but also transfers involving players out of contract.

"Such transfers typically do not actively involve the releasing club, but they are nevertheless testament to the releasing club’s success in developing football talent."
