Celtic target Sacha Boey is closing in on a move to Galatasaray, according to reports.
The 20-year-old Rennes right-back has found himself very much in-demand this summer and was strongly linked with a move to Parkhead.
Ange Postecoglou has acknowledged Celtic are short on the right hand side of defence but has other potential options in George Baldock and Boey's Rennes team-mate Brandon Soppy.
It was claimed last week Celtic were in advanced talks to sign Soppy but both Le Parisien and Get French Football News state he is on his way to Turkey.
It's said talks between the Frenchman and the Premiership giants broke down in the past few days.
Postecoglou started Anthony Ralston at right-back for his side's Champions League second qualifying round draw with Midtyjlland on Tuesday.
On Friday, the manager was asked directly about the prospect of signing Baldock from Sheffield United.
He replied: "I’ve avoided talking about specific targets for that reason, we have multiple targets in every position because it’s challenging right now to get deals done.
Whether it’s because of Covid restrictions or because it’s early in the window so if I was to say we were after a certain player and we didn’t get him I’d hate to think people would think they are plan B.
That’s not the case because we’ve got three plan A’s running concurrently in the positions we need players and for me it’s about getting one of those identified into the squad and into training as quickly as possible.
Right back is an area we don’t have a lot of depth so it’s one of the key areas but there’s other positions we want players.
