Celtic transfer latest as PSG defender subject to 'loan offer' from Parkhead club

Celtic have had a loan offer for PSG full-back Mitchel Bakker turned down.

Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph reports that the Champions League finalists have rejected an offer from the Parkhead club for the 20-year-old defender.

However he adds that they have not "completely closed the door on a potential deal with the Hoops".

Celtic are looking to add a new left back to the squad following the departure of Jonny Hayes and the Boli Bolingoli discipline situation. That leaves Greg Taylor as the club's only recognised senior left back.

Bakker has played for the Netherlands youth teams at all ages up to under-19s and came through the ranks at Ajax before moving to Paris in 2019. He made his debut in January and started his first Ligue One match for the club a month later.

He was among the players nominated for the 2020 Golden Boy award.
