Celtic transfer latest as Omar Colley set to be available on 'cut-price deal' in January

Omar Colley could be available on a 'cut-price deal' in January, according to a report.

Celtic were linked with the Sampdoria defender in the summer as a potential replacement for Kris Ajer who was rumoured to be leaving Parkhead during the window.

The Serie A side were wanting £10million for the centre-half as Liverpool and West Ham were also credited with interest.

But Sky Sports now claim he could be available on the cheap in the New Year as talks over a new deal with the Italians have stalled.

Celtic's defence have been below par this season, conceding 13 goals in 13 Premiership games.

And the Parkhead side could reignite their interest in Colley especially if he is on the market at a reduced price.

The stopper, who has only played four times for Sampdoria this season, insists he is in no rush to sign a new deal with the club which expires in 2022.

His agent Cheikh Fall told SN24 on November 24: "Colley's renewal isn't on the agenda right now. We are not dealing with it.

"The contract expires in a year and a half and there are no rumors of a goodbye in January.

"He is fine at Sampdoria, the family is fine in Genoa and he would leave only and exclusively for something important."
