Celtic transfer latest as Moussa Dembele to Manchester United is blocked

Jean-Michel Aulas has added to the Lyon chorus that Moussa Dembele will not leave the Ligue 1 side this summer.

Manchester United are keen on the France Under-21 striker and any move would see Celtic rake in multi-millions of pounds from the transfer.

The Scottish champions inserted a sell-on clause believed to be around 10 per cent when Dembele left Parkhead during last summer’s window.

He is said to be a £50million target for the Old Trafford giants which would raise a cool £5m for Celtic’s coffers.

But Aulas has reiterated Lyon’s resolve – insisting he is not for sale in this window.

The issue is clouded, though, ahead of Thursday’s deadline as Romelu Lukaku may yet leave Manchester for Inter Milan.

Lyon chief Aulas todl RMC: "He will be with us this season.

"There will be no other departures."

Meanwhile, Neil Lennon has dismissed reports linking Celtic with former West Ham striker Andy Carroll and Brentford defender Rico Henry.

He also insisted Kieran Tierney’s situation has no major bearing on his own transfer plans.

The manager said: “We have done no business this weekend or made any real inroads.

"We have money to spend if needed.

“If we keep Kieran, it’s brilliant because we’ll be keeping a quality player.”
