Celtic transfer latest as more stars linked with move to the champions

It's that time of year when the F5 key becomes the best friend of a football fan.

Every supporter is looking for the latest news on their team and those who follow Celtic are no different.

And it's set to be a busy summer with nine players heading for the Hoops' exit door.

Interim boss Neil Lennon is still waiting to find out if he's got the job for keeps as Celtic look to add quality ahead of Champions League qualifiers.

A lot of names have been linked but how many are realistic targets? Record Sport keeps you right with the latest from Parkhead.

Lys Mousset

Chelsea's Ruben Loftus-Cheek (EMPICS Sport)

The Bournemouth striker is looking for a fresh start after failing to make an impact with the Cherries in the Premier League.

The former France U21 star arrived to much fanfare when signed with Eddie Howe's side in 2016 but it hasn't happened for him on the pitch.

Mousset has netted a measly five times in 68 appearances and could be looking for a move elsehwere. He has one year left on his deal at the Vitality Stadium.

The Chelsea defender is tipped for the top and 21-year-old has enjoyed a brilliant season for Derby in the Championship.

The England U21 international has been a key man for Frank Lampard with the Rams just one game away from a return to the Premier League.

Celtic aware of the player but Record Sport understands they have no interest in moving for him.

Xavier Mbuyamba

Now this would be a coup.

The 17-year-old is regarded as one of the highest-rated young Dutch talents to emerge in recent years and is currently on trial with Chelsea.

Liverpool and Celtic are said to be closely monitoring the MVV Maastricht defender's situation as the second division side get ready to cash in on their prized asset.

Celtic were linked with the Mexican defender in January but Record Sport understands there was nothing concrete behind the speculation.

But the defender handed a blow to any potential suitors by penning a new deal with Mexican giants Club América in recent days.

Karl Darlow

Newcastle's trusted back-up goalkeeper has been linked with Celtic in recent days after finding opportunities limited at St James Park.

The 28-year-old is regarded as a solid operator and the Hoops could be on the lookout for competition for Scott Bain with veteran keeper Craig Gordon nearing the end.

Leeds United are also said to be keen on Darlow.
