Celtic transfer latest as Kieran Tierney offer expected from Napoli and Boli Mbombo is a 'done deal'

Napoli are poised to test Celtic’s resolve by weighing in with an offer for Kieran Tierney.

It’s understood boss Carlo Ancelotti is keen to land an upgrade on Portuguese left-back Mario Rui and is set to firm up his interest in the Scotland star.

As things stand, the only bid to have come in for Tierney is from Arsenal – whose £15million offer fell £10m short of Celtic’s valuation.

But sources in Italy insist the Serie A giants are ready to make their move. Whether Tierney stays or goes, Celtic are still firmly in the market for a new left-back.

Reports in Austria suggest more talks have taken place between the Scottish champions and Rapid Vienna for Boli Mbombo – and that it is all but a done deal.

The Belgian, who can also operate as a left winger, is available for around £3m and Sky Austria say the transfer will be announced before the end of the week. Interestingly, the 24-year-old is said to be strong at left wing-back and Neil Lennon is likely to use a 3-5-2 on occasion this season.

Celtic have also been looking at Romain Perraud, with the left-back keen to leave Nice, but his signing would likely only be pursued if Tierney leaves Glasgow.

As for the other flank, Arsenal’s Carl Jenkinson has emerged as a target for Crystal Palace. The Selhurst Park club need a new right-back after selling Aaron Wan-Bissaka to Manchester United for £55m.

Jenkinson, 27, has been mentioned in connection with Celtic as a possible makeweight in any Tierney deal.

Tottenham are ready to ramp up their attempts to land Rekeem Harper. The midfielder is out of contract at West Brom and as Record Sport revealed last month, Celtic are interested in him.

The 19-year-old has been offered a four-year deal by the Baggies but Tottenham will reportedly loan the player back to the Midlands side after signing him permanently.
