Celtic transfer latest as Hoops 'braced' for Jeremie Frimpong bids and Hatem Abd Elhamed wants Israel return

Celtic face a tough January transfer window after BOTH of their first choice right backs were linked with moves away from the club.

Jeremie Frimpong and Hatem Abd Elhamed have shared right back duties over the last two seasons, with both often playing when Neil Lennon has switched to a 3-5-2.

But it's being suggested that Celtic are 'braced' for bids from the English Premier League for flying full-back Frimpong, while Elhamed hopes to return to Israel.

The Scottish Sun say Elhamed has been struggling with the Covid lockdown restrictions in Scotland would like to move back to Israel to be with his family.

And that could even see Celtic agree to a loan deal for the rest of the season to allow Elhamed to potentially return next summer when things are hopefully a bit more 'normal' in Scotland.

Elhamed lives alone in Glasgow with his family staying in Israel during the pandemic, and it's left him struggling.

It means he could look to quit Celtic Park in January, although Neil Lennon will be desperate to hold onto him while they continue to try and chase their 10th league title in a row.

And they could also lose Frimpong in January with a number of English Championship clubs keeping tabs on the defender.

The former Manchester City youngster has impressed at Celtic and Southampton are also being linked with a move by the Scottish Sun.

Frimpong signed a four-year deal when he joined from City and has held talks over a new deal, although there is yet to be any agreement.
