Celtic transfer latest as Gyrano Kerk holds 'conversations' with big clubs

Celtic target Gyrano Kerk is in talks with various clubs as Utrecht consider cashing in on their star man.

The winger was subject of a Celtic bid in January, having netted 11 goals for the Dutch side but Utrecht turned down their offer.

Kerk later insisted he wouldn't have moved to the Scottish Premiership anyway because he has his heart set on a move to the English Premier League instead.

And his agent, Richinel Bryson, has revealed interest is mounting for the 24-year-old wide man, who still has three years left of his deal.

Bryson said: "Movement in the transfer market has been held up because of the coronavirus crisis, but it's back now.

"I have been in plenty of Zoom conversations with big foreign clubs.

"Gyrano has proved he's ready for the next step, although it's not a foregone conclusion that he will leave. But he is very ambitious. He is 24 years old and has had a very strong season.

"At the same time, Utrecht has become his club - they have given him a lot. The club knows our position."

Utrecht boss, John van den Brom, predicted last month that Celtic would rekindle their interest.

He said: "At this moment there are no actual concrete offers for Gyrano, but Celtic were the club most interested.

"I suspect the coronavirus pandemic will put most transfers on hold just now, but the transfer window will be extended.

"And when that happens I think there will be a lot of interest in Gyrano again. We are expecting that."
