Celtic transfer latest as Ben Davies offered new Preston deal and Omar Colley put 'up for sale'

Celtic had a lot of targets for their centre back position in January but unfortunately for Neil Lennon, not all of them came off.

One that did was Shane Duffy and it's fair to say that hasn't gone as well as hoped in the opening months of his Hoops career.

That could see Lennon go back in for more defensive reinforcements in January and perhaps chase two that he tried to get in the summer.

One of those is Ben Davies, who is out of contract at Preston next summer, and Celtic would be able to discuss a pre-contract with him in January.

But according to the Lancashire Post, the Deepdale outfit have offered Davies a new contract and hope to convince him to stay at the club.

Davies is also attracting interest from elsewhere and the report states a new deal would see him earn a 'significant' wage increase.

That could see Celtic make a move for Omar Colley again.

The Sampdoria defender was close to signing for Fulham on deadline day but it fell through and he’s played just three times for the club this season.

He’s valued at £11m but Celtic would hope to get that down given his lack of playing time.

And CalcioNews24 say Sampdoria have put him up for sale and hope to get rid of him in the January transfer window.
