Celtic transfer latest and the Olivier Ntcham 'bait' that could make or break No1 target deal

Southampton are reportedly willing to sanction Fraser Forster 's return to Celtic if they can secure a deal for Olivier Ntcham.

The Premier League side are long-term admirers of the former France U21 international and Record Sport revealed their interest last month.

Celtic are keen to secure keeper Forster either on another loan or a permanent deal but the England international is a wanted man elsewhere.

Chelsea and Arsenal are both considering bids for the 31-year-old who rejuvenated his career at Parkhead last season under the watchful eye of Neil Lennon and goalkeeping coach Stevie Woods.

Celtic are in no rush to allow Ntcham to depart after making 38 appearances in all competitions last season. He earned his manager's trust following loaded comments surrounding his Parkhead future.

And The Sun claim Southampton want to use Forster as "bait" as they look to land their long-term replacement for former skipper Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

Celtic and Southampton could also be in further contact over the availability of Moi Elyounoussi. The £16m winger spent last season on loan at Parkhead but had interest from Spain with both Betis and Real Sociedad enquiring about his services.

Lennon stated last week he remains keen on the Norway international who struggled to make an impact on the south coast.

Meanwhile, England legend Peter Shilton believes the Hoops and Joe Hart are the perfect match to get the ex-England No.1 firing again.

He said: "The last two or three years haven’t been great for Joe but hopefully if he goes to Celtic it will be the start of him coming back and establishing himself again.

"Celtic would be a good move for him and could be just the boost he needs."
