Celtic transfer bulletin as Vinicius Souza chase heats up and Alexandro Bernabei announcement timeline emerges

Ajax have entered the running for Celtic target Vinicius Souza, according to reports.

The Brazilian is a target for Ange Postecoglou as he looks to add some steel to the engine room.

The Lommel midfielder has been compared to Nemanja Matic and looks like a solid replacement for Nir Bitton.

But he has plenty of offers on the table and yesterday it was reported he has "reservations" over a move to Parkhead, while the likes of Club Brugge, Fenerbahce Bologna and PSV are all keen.

Now Sky Sports report that Ajax have entered the running for the 23-year-old, giving him another option to consider.

However they also say that the City Football Group, who own Lommel and know Postecoglou well from his time at Yokohama F. Marinos, would prefer him to join Celtic on an initial loan.

But they won't intervene and it will be down to the midfielder to decide where he wants to go.

Elsewhere, reports in Argentina claim that Alexandro Bernabei could sign for Celtic as early as today - provided the Parkhead club play ball with Lanus.

The promising left-back has been heavily linked with a move and it's widely known he is Postecoglou's main target to provide competition for Greg Taylor.

The 21-year-old has missed Lanus' last two games due to "business in Europe" and he's locked in talks over a summer move to Glasgow.

As things stand Celtic are believed to have made one offer which has been rejected - but Lanus' low asking price of £3.75m means an agreement is likely.

And Engranados report that he's ready to sign as soon as an agreement is reached, claiming it could be rubber stamped within "the next few hours."

And talks with former Dundee United keeper Benjamin Siegrist are continuing apace.

It's understood they are in "advanced talks" with the 30-year-old, who seems to prefer staying in Scotland to a move to the English Championship.

Preston and Ipswich are keen but it's Celtic currently in pole position as they seek a new understudy for Joe Hart.

Vasilis Barkas has joined Utrecht on loan and Scott Bain will likely be allowed to leave if Siegrist, or another senior keeper, signs on.
