Celtic to 'move forward now' in Jota pursuit as Ange Postecoglou seeks permanent deal for winger

Celtic are considering 'moving forward' with a potential permanent deal for loan star Jota, according to a report in Portugal.

The 22-year-old winger has been on fire for the Hoops since making the move from Benfica, with the Parkhead club reportedly able to make him their player in January for £6.5million.

Jota impressed as Ange Postecoglou's men beat Ferencvaros 3-2 in the Europa League on Thursday, scoring an excellent goal in the process.

He has been a smash hit among the Celtic faithful and fans, media and pundits alike have urged the club's hierarchy to splash the cash to bring him to Glasgow on a full-time basis.

And Portuguese newspaper A Bola reports Celtic are weighing up doing just that.

Their Saturday edition states Jota has 'enchanted' the Premiership giants as they consider 'moving forward now' for the attacker.

Given his displays so far, it would in all likelihood be money well-spent by the Celtic board as they look to strengthen their push for the title.

Rangers are currently four points ahead at the top of the table and face Ross County at Ibrox on Sunday, while Celtic head for Dundee.
