Celtic to launch probe after vile troll targets Rangers legend Fernando Ricksen

Celtic Football Club will launch an investigation after sick messages about Fernando Ricksen appeared online.

The former Rangers star, who suffers from Motor Neurone Disease, was targeted by a Celtic-supporting troll on social media saying he "couldn't wait for Fernando Ricksen to die".

The action by the Hoops comes after ex- Gers ace Nacho Novo called on the Parkhead club to ban the fan from their ground.

Ricksen , 43, was diagnosed in 2013 with MND and is currently in a hospice in Airdrie.

In a statement Celtic said: "We will fully investigate this matter and of course take all appropriate action."

In a post on Instagram on Friday said he was disgusted at the abusive comment which the Record has refused to fully disclose due to its nature.

Novo wrote: "I’m absolutely discussed about that wee p***k can speak about someone who can’t defend himself I hope the media put this comment in the papers because when a comment was said to Scott Brown about his sister it was front page news.

"So I hope Celtic do the same with that wee b*****d and ban him for life. We don’t want any favours from anybody but we just want justice."

Rangers recently vowed to ban a fan for life after a sickening comment was allegedly made to Celtic skipper Scott Brown about his tragic sister outside Ibrox Stadium.

Brown lost his beloved little sister Fiona to cancer in May 2008.
