Celtic to face FK Jablonec in Europa League qualifying following Midtjylland defeat

Celtic will face FK Jablonec in Europa League qualifying following their extra time defeat against Midtjylland.

The Hoops will travel to Czech Republic in the third qualifying round after dropping out of the Champions League.

It's a repeat of last season when Celtic also went out of European football's premier competition to Ferencvaros.

And they had a dismal Europa League campaign as they finished fourth in a group with AC Milan, Sparta Prague and Lille.

It was heartache in Denmark despite Callum McGregor gave Celtic the lead in Denmark with a truly wonderful goal.

He chested the ball after it came to him at the edge of the box and struck a brilliant volley to fire the Hoops into the lead.

Awer Nabil equalised for the hosts on the 61st minute as Midtjylland pegged back the Hoops before Raphael Onyedika Nwadike netted the winner.

Ange Postecoglou's men now face Czech side FK Jablonec who have only reached the group stage of the Europa League once in their history.
