Celtic tipped to sign Hibs star in £3 million January swoop by ex-Hoops ace

Former Celtic winger Davie Provan believes Celtic should be making a move for Hibs' Kevin Nisbet this January.

The winter window is almost upon Scottish football and Nisbet's name has never been far away from the rumour mill.

Last January, the Cambuslang forward watched a big-money move to English Championship side Birmingham City fall through on deadline day.

Then over the summer, rumours of a move to Celtic Park persisted until the closing stages of the window.

Nisbet has netted five times with three assists this season. Provan believes that at a price of £3 million, the Hibs forward is worth gambling on.

He told the Go Radio Football Show: "I said last summer Celtic should have signed Kevin Nisbet.

"I know his form has shaded but I think he is back to his best now.

"He looks a proper player, and what would you have to pay to Hibs, £3million?

"That’s a no-brainer. At his age you are going to get your money back."
