Celtic the latest club tipped with a move for Sunderland's Charlie Wyke

Scottish Premiership giants Celtic are monitoring Sunderland's 30-goal a season striker Charlie Wyke, according to reports.

Former Celtic defender Mark Wilson told the Celtic Huddle Podcast that the Hoops are among the long list of clubs chasing his signature.

The 28-year-old's contract is up in the summer and his future on Wearside could be dependant on which division the Black Cats are in next season.

Failure to earn promotion to the Championship could result in Wyke moving to new pastures.

North-east rivals Middlesbrough are reportedly keen on taking Wyke back to Teeside, while CSKA Moscow have also reportedly scouted Sunderland's number nine.

Wilson said on the Celtic Huddle Podcast: “It’s understood that Sunderland striker Charlie Wyke is on a list of potential summer signings.

“Looking into him, he’s scored 30 goals this season in League One. He’s 28-years-old and he’s available on a free transfer.”

Celtic are still without a manager with former Bournemouth manager, Eddie Howe, reportedly close to joining the Celts.
