Neil Lennon could be forced into starting Shane Duffy against St Johnstone on Sunday.
Stephen Welsh is a major doubt for the Premiership clash and the Parkhead boss might need to call on the out-of-form defender to replace him.
The Irishman has suffered an error-riddled season on loan from Brighton as youngster Welsh has cemented his spot in the side in recent weeks.
But the rising star was stretchered off in the 4-0 win over St Mirren midweek which means he could miss the trip to Perth.
The good news for Celtic is the injury is not as bad as first feared, but Duffy might have to fill the void in the short-term.

Celtic should start Scott Bain in goals and a back four of Greg Taylor, Kris Ajer, Jonjoe Kenny and Duffy, who replaced Ajer in the second half against the Buddies.
The Hoops will deploy an unchanged midfield of Scott Brown, Callum McGregor, Tom Rogic, David Turnbull with Odsonne Edouard and Albian Ajeti leading the line for the visitors.
