Celtic team v Ferencvaros confirmed as Edouard misses out and Lennon goes with surprise strike option

Neil Lennon has named his Celtic team for tonight's match against Ferencvaros – and there's no place for Odsonne Edouard.

The Frenchman has been struggling with a slight thigh injury and isn't fit enough to play a part this evening.

It looks as if Ryan Christie will play as the central striker, with Patryk Klimala and Albian Ajeti on the bench.

Elsewhere Olivier Ntcham keeps his place in the team, while James Forrest, Kris Ajer and Hatem Abd Elhamed come in after starting on the bench at the weekend.

The Celtic starting XI is as follows: Barkas, Elhamed, Ajer, Jullien, Taylor, Brown, McGregor, Ntcham, Christie, Elyounoussi, Forrest.

Bench: Bain, Bitton, Ajeti, Klimala, Soro, Frimpong, Harper.

Neil Lennon has already said he expects tonight's opponents to be a big step up from KR Reykjavik, who they dealt with easily in last week's first round qualifier.

The Hungarian champions took care of Swedish side Djurgardens in the previous round, and have won their national league title for the last two seasons.

They also put up a decent showing in last season's Europa League, going unbeaten away from home in a group with Ludogorets, CSKA Moscow and Espanyol.
