Celtic 'target' Tomas Kalas suffers shocker against England

Tomas Kalas will be hoping Celtic's scouts were looking the other as he produced a howler for the ages against England.

The Chelsea defender, who is on loan at Bristol City, somehow contrived to fire the ball into his own net after Callum Hudson Odoi's effort was deflected into his path by keeper Jiri Pavlenka.

Kalas had his head in his hands as he bundled his effort into the back of the net as Gareth Southgate's side battered the visitors from pillar to post in their 5-0 Euro 2020 opener.

A host of teams are believed to be monitoring the 25-year-old and the Hoops are reportedly keen on a player who has spent much of the past nine years away from Stamford Bridge.

It was a remarkable mistake from Kalas who has developed a reputation as a solid operator in the Championship.

The stopper has extra value as he can play in multiple positions and has started in central defence and at right-back in recent season.

But he'll hoping tonight's howler won't make the showreel as clubs weigh up a move for a player who is valued at £5million.
