David Turnbull did not train with his Motherwell team-mates this afternoon ahead of a proposed move to Celtic.
The Steelmen are in Europa League action tomorrow night when they welcome Northern Irish side Glentoran in a first round qualifier.
But Turnbull wasn't involved in the club's preparations, as Celtic and Motherwell remain in talks to thrash out a deal for the £3m-rated midfielder.
And it's understood the 21-year-old won't be included in the squad for Motherwell's first venture into Europe for six years.
On their last outing, the Steelmen lost in extra-time to Icelandic outfit Stjarnan in the second round of qualifying.
They go into tomorrow's clash looking for their first win of the season after a run of five games without a victory.
