Celtic target Albian Ajeti expected to have medical in next 24 hours

Albian Ajeti is expected to undergo a medical with Celtic in the next 24 hours.

The West Ham striker has been targeted by Celtic throughout the summer, and it appears that Neil Lennon is about to get his man.

Ajeti, who has 10 caps for Switzerland, is reported to be in Glasgow ahead of a medical with the Premiership champions.

"Ajeti and his agent are finalising terms with the Hoops and he’s due to undergo a medical in the next 24 hours.

"The move was in jeopardy two weeks ago, but I’m told Neil Lennon saved this deal."

Lennon was disappointed with his side's 1-1 draw against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on Sunday, saying: “I’m frustrated. We got off to a good start and then gave away a poor goal from our point of view.

“Then we dominated the second half, but didn’t find the answer. We knew Kilmarnock would do very well, defend with a low block and two banks of four.

“Our final ball wasn’t good and that’s something we need to work on.

“The pitch is really really dry, but clubs, when you come away, don’t set up the pitch to suit us. They make it as difficult as possible and we can’t use the pitch as an excuse, or the weather or the fact there were no fans."
