Celtic supporters make late season ticket refund requests as fed-up fans take protest to board

Celtic supporters have been told that season ticket refunds are available as fed up fans look to hit the club in the pocket.

A section of the Hoops support are angry at how this season has gone and have decided to request their refunds months into the new campaign.

Celtic's supporter's liaison officer confirmed to fans on social media that the offer was still there for them to claim back cash for next season.

It comes after protests from fans against the board and Neil Lennon's handling of this season so far.

Celtic currently sit 11 points behind rivals Rangers at the top of the Premiership, although they have two games in hand, and have crashed out of both the Europa League and Betfred Cup.

Angry supporters clashed with police outside Celtic Park and the club released a statement criticising them for their actions, while Peter Lawwell then put his full support behind Lennon.

Many supporters had left the cash with the club ahead of the historic 10 In A Row attempt but have now changed their minds after a poor run of form.

And the Celtic SLO has had numerous tweets sent to him asking if the refunds are still available and many have looked to take them.

Hoops fans have to post the request to the club and will then receive a refund for part of last season.

A tweet from a Celtic supporter told fans how to do it and added a statement saying: "Celtic FC is in the wrong hands."

One wrote said: "This is beyond results now for me, it's beyond this season. The contempt those at the top at Celtic have for fans - the individuals who collectively keep this club alive - has to be the last straw. Request your refunds, don't give them a penny more."

Another added: "I urge EVERY Celtic season ticket holder to contact the club requesting a refund form for last season."

A fan then commented: "I requested my refund today. This isn’t about Sunday or even this season. It’s the lack of ambition shown by the board, the abject failure to take us into the CL groups and generate millions that could have seen us really progress. J McGinn saga, the cheap transfer policy etc."

Many fans tweeted their plans to donate the money to the Celtic Foundation while others were unhappy with supporters who decided to take it.
