Celtic support Black Lives Matter movement and 'stand firm' against racism

Celtic have shown their support for the Black Lives Matter movement following the death of George Floyd.

The Parkhead club insist they "stand firm" against racism and shared a squad photo with players holding 'Show Racism the Red Card' signs aloft.

They said: "As a club open to all since 1888, Celtic stands firmly against all forms of prejudice #BlackLivesMatter."

Numerous footballers have thrown thjer weight behind the cause, including Hoops striker Odsonne Edouard, following Floyd's tragic killing in Minneapolis.

The French talisman shared an image of a black screen with the message "Black Lives Matter #BlackoutTuesday.

Scotland captain Andy Robertson also pledged his support as Liverpool players took a knee at Anfield.

He said: "Unity is strength #BlackLivesMatter".

Former Rangers youngster Billy Gilmour also took a knee with his Chelsea team-mates to show his solidarity.

He said: "Enough is enough. We are all HUMANS. Together we are stronger. #BlackLivesMatter."
