Celtic stars make emotional Lennoxtown return as chuffed Scott Brown leads the way ahead of weigh-in

It's hard to believe the beautiful game has been out of commission for over three months in Scotland but the signs are good ahead of its return.

Despite there being no action on the pitch that doesn't mean Scottish football has been dulled with plenty of rammies to keep supporters entertained.

But as much as the off the field stuff antics can thrill - our game is never more enjoyable when there's goals to celebrate.

The Premiership is poised to return at the start of August and teams are putting the finishing touches on their training schedule as clubs welcome their players back to training.

And champions Celtic welcomed their first team stars for a series of preparations and tests ahead of their big return on Thursday.

Players lined-up on a rain-soaked day in East Dunbartonshire as the likes of skipper Scott Brown and James Forrest were snapped entering the club's training facilities.

The Celtic stars will be set for a host of COVID-19 tests in the coming weeks but also had the dreaded weigh-in to contend with to after 12 weeks of working on their own at home.

A return to action will be welcomed by Brown more than any other player as the Hoops captain lives and breathes life on the training ground.

But he will be without his good pal Jonny Hayes after his depature but you can rest assured the 34-year-old will be on the lookout for a new wing man for the season ahead.
