Motherwell manager Graham Alexander believes VAR could provide a much-needed boost after watching refereeing decisions go against his side in a 2-0 league defeat to Celtic.
Goals either side of half-time from Jota and Fir Park academy graduate David Turnbull left Alexander's men defeated. The Steelmen drop to sixth in the Premiership after their third league loss of the season.
Alexander was far from happy with refereeing decisions made by Willie Collum and Chris Fordyce, who became the man in the middle after Collum pulled up injured.
There were calls for a foul in the build-up to Jota's opener while Celtic left-back Boli Bolingoli appeared to handle the ball inside the penalty box midway through the second half.

"They score first from a counter-attack which we could have had a free-kick in the build-up to," said Alexander. "We should have had a penalty.
"The first few challenges sets the bar for what is going to be given over the rest of the game. Yes, the ball is still a fair way away from the goal before it goes in, but these things are important.
"We fight and scrap for every decision as we know that it could always end up as something else. It could end in attacking threat - and it did - but it was a good finish from the lad.
"Then it's a blatant penalty. The lad has just slapped the ball away. But for us to get a penalty against one of the big boy's, that's a rare thing."
Clubs have already held positive talks over the introduction of VAR - Video Assistant Referee - and Alexander believes its addition is much-needed.
"VAR definitely would have helped us out," explained Alexander. "It would have given us a 1-0 win away to Rangers and it would have given us a penalty today.
"I think it would have helped us in quite a few games to be fair. It's not about the atmosphere, it's not about the pressure people are under, it's black and white.
"If it's seen, then it's given. At the minute, we are on the wrong end of those."
Alexander's men now look forward to a trip to Tannadice where they face Dundee United next week, who are riding high after a 3-0 win over Hibs.
"It was a difficult game," added Alexander on the defeat to Celtic. "We were in the ascendency and pressed really well from the front. We had a couple of chances from that, which we need to take.
"I was really happy with the players at half-time but the second goal is a moment of quality from a player everyone knows well at Motherwell."
