Celtic star Ryan Christie shares gruesome photo showing damage from Dom Ball collision

Ryan Christie has shared a photo showing the gruesome aftermath of his sickening collision with Aberdeen 's Dominic Ball.

The Celtic star was rushed to hospital during his side's 3-0 Scottish Cup semi-final win on Sunday.

Ball was shown a second-yellow card for hurtling into Christie and leaving him sprawled on the Hampden turf.

Celtic interim boss Neil Lennon admitted afterwards he feared the midfielder had fractured a cheekbone or eye socket.

But now Christie has taken to social media showing off a huge black eye and swelling on the side of his face.

The playmaker remained in high spirits, however, as he joked about being almost knocked out in the incident.

He wrote on Instagram: "Rumour has it we won 3-0... Thank you so much to everyone for all the amazing messages and support #fullkitw****r"

The post has received almost 700 likes within eight minutes of Christie sharing it online.

The Scotland international is expected to spend at least 3 weeks on the sidelines but Lennon remains hopeful he will be available for the Scottish Cup Final against Hearts on Saturday, May 25.
