Celtic star Stephen Welsh laid a signed shirt at the memorial to tragic Glasgow teen Aidan Pilkington who died after an alleged hit and run.
Aidan, 18, was killed by a car in Crow Road, in the city's west end, in the early hours of Saturday morning.
A major police investigation was sparked and an outpouring of grief from devastated loved ones.
Police have arrested a 19-year-old, who plays for Celtic's B team, in connection with the incident.
Now a pal of Aidan has taken to social media sharing that Celtic defender Welsh, 21, laid down a Hoops shirt in Aidan's honour alongside floral tributes on Glasgow's Whittinghame Drive.
A tweet from the pal, called Ben, reads: "Hats off to @stephen_welsh17 , what a role model this guy is to all people taking the time out his day to come down and lay scarves and T-shirt’s, I know how much Pilky would have loved this, a lovely gesture to make and one that won’t be forgotten, Only One Aidan Pilkington RIP."
A later tweet adds: "Overwhelmed with all the messages and comments from everyone too many to reply to individually but please know it’s appreciated to another level words can’t even describe, thank you everyone."
A fundraiser organised by Chantelle Mallon and the McDonald’s Crow Road has now reached an incredible £10,000 as people across the country have donated after the tragic incident.
The post alongside the GoFundMe page says the youngster would be 'missed with all our hearts'.
It reads: "After hearing of the tragic news that one of our valued team members and friend has sadly passed away following a tragic road incident, we wanted to do as much as we can to support his family and everyone who cared about him.
"To do this we are raising money to help support his family with any costs that may come at this tragic time.
"If anyone could donate anything they can no matter how big or small to show your support to his family and loved ones.
"RIP Aidan, we will all miss you and you'll be forever in our hearts."
The family have reportedly supported the drive with a further message yesterday on the page saying the cash would go towards a trust in Aiden's name.
It read: "We, Aidan's family, are pleasantly surprised and overwhelmed by the kind words and generosity of Aidan's friends and the wider community.
"Thank you to those who have organised this fund.
"The money will be put towards a trust in Aidan's name to be used by Hyndland Secondary for students who may require financial help to go to college, university or undertake an apprenticeship.
"We believe that this is a fitting tribute to Aidan. He was a kind and supportive friend who encouraged his fellow classmates to do their best."
