Celtic star Jeremie Frimpong can hurt Rangers but Ryan Kent will be biggest test so far - Back Page

With the form Celtic are in at the moment, their team is almost picking itself for Neil Lennon .

The likes of Odsonne Edouard, Ryan Christie, Scott Brown and Christopher Jullien among others are all playing at an extremely high level at the minute.

As a result, the Northern Irishman doesn't have too many headaches as the Betfred Cup Final against Rangers approaches.

But the one position the Parkhead gaffer will have a decision to make is at right-back with an injury to Hatem Abd Elhamed.

Jeremie Frimpong has enjoyed an incredible start to his Celtic career, but the Ibrox side are a different proposition.

And with Moritz Bauer impressing last night in Celtic's 3-1 win over Rennes, it's not a foregone conclusion that Frimpong will get the nod.

In today's episode of Back Page , Fraser Wilson and Jonny McFarlane discuss who would be better suited for the upcoming Hampden clash.

Fraser thinks Bauer's defensive ability will stand him in good stead up against the dangerous Ryan Kent, while Jonny believes Frimpong can hurt Steven Gerrard's side with his blistering pace going forward.

Jonny said: "The lad Frimpong has been irresistible in terms of pace and attacking vigour."

Fraser added: "Defensively though, has he been tested?"

Jonny responded: "No, but he plays with a smile on his face and gets fans off their seats and that's why fans are getting behind him.

"He looks like he is enjoying himself and he is delivering when he's on the pitch. Defensively people have tried to rough him up, but he's too good at the moment.

"Ryan Kent's another story."

Fraser added: "That's why I would play Bauer."

Jonny continued: "They won't know until they throw him in. For me, I would go with Frimpong because he just looks so terrific.

"He could go in there and cause Rangers all sorts of problems."
