Celtic star James Forrest on Rangers goal and his favourite assist

James Forrest has revealed his favourite goals and assist.

The 28-year-old has answered questions from supporters for the Celtic View about his time at the club, which has seen him make 391 appearances and score 88 goals.

The winger has made 43 appearances so far this season, helping Celtic to establish a 13-point lead at the top of the Premiership.

Asked by @grantona86 what his favourite goal so far this season has been, Forrest said: "I think I would go with the Lazio goal over in Rome.

"We went down 1-0 in that game, so to come back before half-time was important. We won that game as well, to become the first Celtic team to win a competitive game on Italian soil, so that was important for the club as well.

"Lazio were also flying at the time as well, so that felt like a really important goal and one I’ll always remember."

@Mic_433 asked Forrest to name his favourite from the goals he's scored during his time at Celtic Park, to which he replied: "My first goal against Rangers during the 5-0 league title-winning derby in 2018 is up there, as is the goal I scored in the last minute of the Shakhter Karagandy game, in the Champions League qualifiers of 2013/14.

"Those were two very different goals, but two important ones, which were both cause for celebration for different reasons."

Asked by @RichieW443 to choose his favourite assist, Forrest said: "That’s a good question. Let’s say the one for Cal’s (Callum McGregor's) goal against Bayern Munich in the Champions League at Celtic Park in 2017.

"He always makes brilliant runs off the ball, which makes my job easier, but that was a great finish as well against one of the best teams in Europe.

"We didn’t get the result we wanted that night, but we did go toe-to-toe with them for long periods of the match."

Forrest was asked by @kaiman53 to name his favourite kit from his time at the club and said: "That’s another good one. I don’t know actually. I suppose you can’t go wrong with the Hoops.

"I always love the home kit, and if there’s a big game which one strip or other reminds me of, then that's all the better as well.

"The home top the year we beat Barcelona in 2012 was nice. The Hoops during the Invincibles season was nice too.

"I don’t know - the easiest answer here is the Hoops, in any way shape or form!"
