Celtic star declares himself 'back in action' after injury

Auston Trusty has declared himself "back in action" after returning to Celtic training.

The centre-back has been sidelined with a foot injury since the firt leg 0-0 draw against Kairat Almaty on August 20. He suffered from plantar fasciitis which can result in months out but he has only missed six games.

Ahead of the Europa League clash with Braga on Thursday, the 27-year-old was back in training with his teammates today.

It will be a boost to Brendan Rodgers and could mean the defender is available to be in the squad against the Portuguese side. If not, the home clash with Motherwell could see him return.

And Trusty is clearly buzzing about the prospect about getting back on the pitch.

Sharing a picture of him in training to social media, he wrote: "Annddd we’re back in action! Feels good to be back on the pitch, and I’m excited to pick up where I left off."

Trusty had made three substitute's appearances before his injury, starting just once during the League Cup win over Falkirk. Liam Scales and Cameron Carter-Vickers have build up a strong and trusted partnership at centre-back.
