Celtic star David Turnbull excited for fresh start under new manager Ange Postecoglou

David Turnbull is relishing a fresh start under new Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou next season.

The 55-year-old was officially appointed yesterday after a long search for Neil Lennon's replacement after the Northern Irishman left in February.

Turnbull enjoyed a brilliant debut season at Celtic after signing from Motherwell last summer and the Wishaw ace won the club's Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year awards.

The 21-year-old is hoping to make an impact with Scotland at the EUROs this summer but he's excited about the future under Postecoglou.

“Last season went well for me and it’s just important to keep that going," said Turnbull.

"It’s been great to get the call-up to the Scotland squad and going to the Euros.

"I’m fully focused on that at the moment, but once we’re all back with Celtic, we’ll be looking forward to working with the new manager and preparing for the season ahead.

“No matter the circumstances, once you’ve had a break you’re always looking forward to coming back in to work as hard as you can to impress.

"We’ll have a new manager so we’re all looking forward to meeting him and working with him.”
