Celtic star David Turnbull Euro winner praised by Motherwell boss

Motherwell boss Stephen Robinson heaped praise on former player David Turnbull after he scored Celtic's winner on his Europa League debut last night.

But he says what happens with the 21-year-old from now on is nothing to do with Motherwell.

Turnbull struck in 75 minutes to give Celtic a consolation win in their group, in his first game in the competition for his new club, and on his first start since moving from Fir Park.

Robinson was watching the game at home, and said Turnbull did well - but what he does from here on is up to Neil Lennon and Celtic.

He said: "He did well. I watched the game, it was a great result for Celtic, a super goal and he was involved in everything they did - but that's no surprise to us because we've worked with him and know the quality that he has.

"I have to concentrate on Motherwell. David has done great, he was very good last night, but what happens after that is really none of my business.

"He's a top, top player, we said that and Neil knows that as well, and I'm sure he will go on to big things."
