Celtic squad revealed for Rennes as Moritz Bauer could get Europa League chance

Moritz Bauer could be given his chance in the Europa League , as Celtic look to wrap up first place in Group E.

The Premiership champions are already assured of a place in the last 32 thanks to their dramatic victory over Lazio in Rome last time out.

That doesn't mean there is nothing to play for though as finishing top of the group would see Neil Lennon 's side seeded for the next round and, theoretically, given an easier draw.

The Celtic manager is still without Hatem Abd Elhamed at right-back, while Jeremie Frimpong isn't registered for the Europa League.

That should see Bauer come in to make his first European start for the Hoops, with the Austrian's only previous outing a one-minute cameo in the Stadio Olimpico.

It will be an unfamiliar full-back combination, with Greg Taylor to start on the other side in the absence of Boli Bolingoli and Jonny Hayes.

Celtic will go through as group winners if they win at Parkhead and Lazio beat CFR Cluj in Rome.

The Italians have to win to have any chance of going through.

Provisional Celtic squad: Forster, Bauer, Bolingoli, Taylor, Ajer, Jullien, Rogic, Bitton, Brown, McGregor, Ntcham, Forrest, Edouard, Johnston, Griffiths, Christie, Morgan, Gordon.
