Celtic squad revealed as Leigh Griffiths misses out despite calf strain recovery

Celtic will head to Paisley to face St Mirren without any additional fitness issues following the comprehensive 5-0 win over Ross County.

Leigh Griffiths is back in full training and was thought to be a potential option for the game having recovered from the calf strain that has plagued his start to the season.

But boss Neil Lennon admits his match fitness isn't where it needs to be.

He said: "He's fit, yeah, but he's not in the squad because he's not trained or played enough football yet."

"It's just a lack of training and game time stopping him being in the squad at the minute.

"In terms of the calf strain it looks like he's over the worst of that now. He's still training and topping up his fitness work at the minute."

Tom Rogic is also back in training but looking to build up sharpness before he returns to action. The Australian turned down the chance to move to Qatar last week and is keen to get back into first-team contention.

Mikey Johnson is still in recovery from his long-term knee injury and won't return until early October at the earliest.

Shane Duffy is expected to start after a superb debut in the Highlands capped by a towering header while Odsonne Edouard is likely to take his place up front after also returning with a goal.

Potential Line-up

Provisional squad

Barkas, Jullien, Taylor, Brown, Christie, Ntcham, Ajer, McGregor, Elhamed, Edouard, Forrest, Bain, Bitton, Ajeti, Duffy, Klimala, Turnbull, Elyounoussi, Soro, Frimpong
