Celtic squad revealed as Carl Starfelt in line for first league appearance since Rangers clash

Celtic boast a healthy squad as they sit seven points clear at the top of Scottish Premiership ahead of their match against Motherwell on Wednesday night.

Ange Postecoglou has got his side playing entertaining attacking football, culminating in six wins from their last six league fixtures as they chase another title. The Hoops were made to work hard for their last victory against Dundee United at Celtic Park, as last-gasp efforts from Kyogo Furuhashi and Liel Abada sealed a dramatic 4-2 win to avoid conceding ground to Rangers.

Postecoglou has consistently rotated to keep his team fresh so don't be survived if he shuffles the pack once more. Celtic captain Callum McGregor will continue to sit out fixtures as he recovers from a long-term knee injury, meaning he will not be present this evening.

The Aussie manager also stated in yesterday’s pre-match press conference that James McCarthy has suffered a "significant" hamstring injury. It’s a serious blow to the 31-year-old, who has already been struggling for game time since arriving at the club last summer.

Cameron Carter-Vickers was back at the weekend after missing out on the trip to Real Madrid and the key defender is likely to retain his spot in the team.

Furuhashi, Abada, Greg Taylor and Aaron Mooy all started on the bench against Dundee United and will be desperate to return to the starting fold.

David Turnbull started last time out as he continues his return from injury, while Moritz Jenz is in danger of picking up a suspension if he is booked at Fir Park.

Elsewhere, Carl Starfelt could be handed a first league start since early September as he has recovered from a knee problem.
