Celtic SLO gives banner update as Hoops consider allowing fan flags in Paradise

Celtic's supporter's liaison officer John Paul Taylor has revealed the club will consider allowing fans to place banners in their empty ground to add colour to the stadium when coronavirus restrictions ease.

Glasgow finds itself in tier three of the Scottish government's covid restriction system with fans unlikely to return until the council area reaches at least tier two.

Fans at clubs like Aberdeen, Dundee United and Rangers have been previously able to enter the stadium to hang their flags in certain areas of the ground but Celtic did not organise the same.

Instead, Celtic Park is adorned solely by club crests and advertising.

The SLO revealed fans were prevented from displaying their banners due to the the dangers of getting people in and out of the ground safely.

However, he has assured fans that it's something the club will look at again when restrictions become less stringent.

He said: "We hoped we'd have fans back by now Stephen plus the logistics of getting the numbers of people in and out safely to set it up, may be something we look at again when restrictions ease though."

His reply came after a Twitter user posted the question: "How is there not CSC (Celtic Supporters Club) flags around paradise on the seats instead of a stadium full of advertising?"
