Celtic skipper Scott Brown ranked alongside Sergio Ramos and Luis Suarez in 7 experts of football's 'dark arts'

Scott Brown has been ranked in a top seven of world football alongside Sergio Ramos, Pepe and Luis Suarez - for players who best use the "art of darkness" to achieve victory.

It's no secret in Scotland the Celtic skipper's will to win makes him a hero to Hoops fans - and the arch villain to their rivals.

His involvement in scuffles that saw Alfredo Morelos red carded and Jon Flanagan cited by the compliance officer in the Hoops' previous two derby clashes with Rangers see him as the enemy for the Ibrox faithful.

He was also dubbed as "lacking class" by Hearts captain Christophe Berra this week for confronting Uche Ikpeazu in the immediate aftermath of Saturday's Scottish Cup Final.

Now his notoriety has spread as far as South America where Brazilian media site  Boa Informacao 'honour' the 33-year-old former Scotland captain as one of the "best operators" in the "arts of darkness".

The article claims "sometimes the lines between right and wrong can be confused in the pursuit of victory". And holding up Brown as an example they state:

"Born of the coals of blood, sweat and tears, his story is that of the Scot who could do some dangerous things in the field to defend his love for victory.

"He remains the most expensive player transferred between two Scottish clubs, and even at the age of 33, it is still easy to see why."

Brown was a £4.5million signing from Hibs 12 years ago and has won an astonishing 19 trophies in that time including nine titles, five Scottish Cups and five League Cups.

Also on the Brazilian hit list are "master of the dark arts" Ramos, Pepe, Suarez, Giorgio Chiellini, Diego Costa and former Manchester United defender Ander Herrera.
