Celtic set for special match to honour Artur Boruc in clash against Legia Warsaw in Poland

Celtic will take part in a special match to honour fans' favourite Artur Boruc.

The Hoops have invited by Legia Warsaw to take part in a tribute match on July 20 in Poland and it will also act as part of the pre-season plans.

Boruc was at Celtic for five years and won everything on offer in Scotland.

He lifted three league titles, one Scottish Cup and two League cups during his time at Parkhead.

He was also part of Celtic team that reached the last 16 stage of the Champions League on two occasions.

Celtic hero Boruc has had spells south of the border at Southampton and Bournemouth while he is still the most capped Polish goalkeeper with 65 international caps.

Callum McGregor told Celtic's official website: said: “Artur is a huge character and was a massive part of Celtic for a number of years performing brilliantly for the club domestically and in Europe and he will always be so highly regarded by everyone here.

“We are looking forward to playing our part in this tribute to Artur, something he richly deserves after such a long and successful career covering Legia Warsaw, Celtic and a number of other clubs.”.
